The World’s First Bed & Bloody Mary
Lodging at the Glenmore was once described by one guest as an “Experience”.
The Glenmore is not the Hiatt Regency nor is it the Taj Mahal.
Lodging at the Glenmore is as simple and basic now as it used to be 100 years ago when hunters and trappers used to bed overnight on their pilgrimages throughout the Adirondack frontier.

The hotel rooms are directly above the Glenmore bar and restaurant which is often open until 2:00 AM.
The rooms all have a unique décor and are comfortable and clean but do not have all the amenities that are usually expected in most modern inns and motels.

There are no alarm clocks.

There are no televisions.

There are no telephones.
A cozy bed and comfortable surroundings is what the Glenmore provides.
However…
If you are looking for accommodations that have their own private bath in each room then the Glenmore may not be the place for you.
Providing each room with its own bathroom was not in the structural plans when the hotel was built 100 years ago.
There is one half bath and two full baths with showers to accommodate all the guest that stay for the night. In other words the bathrooms are down the hall.
You could say that the Glenmore is like staying at Grandma’s house for the weekend…except in this case your grandma is an alcoholic and has a really big bar downstairs in her living room.

The Glenmore is not for everyone.
It is a great place to stay for the weekend for those that are looking to unwind, cut loose and have some fun…and then crawl upstairs to bed to await their morning hangovers.
There have even been some that have not even made it that far and have ended up in front of the fireplace on the couch in the bar.
In the morning there will be coffee…or a Bloody Mary. Which ever you prefer.

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed but there is a great local kennel that is highly recommended and will pamper your pet for the duration of your stay.
