5:17 PM: 31 Degrees - Snowing Conditions: Very Poor
The rain finally changed over to snow in the past few hours and the temperature continues to drop. Rained most of the day and last night and the conditons that were decent last night are terrible today. More Snow is expected to return saturday and sunday and through next week but with a possible wintery mix this coming wednesday. No major storm seem to be on the horizon. Last year we received nearly all our snow fall in February so hopefully we will get dumped on in another week and winter will finally begin.
Plenty of activities going on this weekend: The Zippy Charity Ride is to take place this weekend with Tony Stewart. Other possibles are Jamie McMurray, Jimmy Makar and Matt Yocum. Also this weekend is the 4th annual Old Forge Pond Hockey Festival on 4th Lake. So even though conditions may not be the greatest there are still things going on this weekend to make the trip worth while.
Trails & Roads: Trails are in very poor condition and roads are un-rideable.
The Lakes: Lakes are in safe but in very poor condition as there is at least an inch or teo of rain water covering the entire surface. There is approximately 6 to 10 inches of ice on 4th Lake. Big Moose lake has about 10 - 12 inches of ice.
